About Us

OUR MISSION

We strive to be passionate, creative, knowledgeable, and honest in an environment that is welcoming, fun, relaxed, and unpretentious. If it's possible to do with your hair, we can likely make it happen and will care for the integrity of your hair in the process. You should feel listened to and seen when you walk in the door, and leave with a style that is easy to care for, easy to maintain, and easy to wear.

Honeybee is committed to having 100% gender-neutral pricing, with a creative and caring approach catered to your identity. Our collective believes in environmentally sustainable salon initiatives, ethical and transparent business practices, and giving back to our community. Hopefully, we make you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin, and help you own what makes you unique and awesome.

Honeybee Hair Parlor was created by longtime hairdresser/makeup artist JoAnn LS with the idea of creating a salon that is truly for anyone and everyone. Honeybee is intended to be a collection of some of the most hardworking, talented, driven artists in our community working together. Its mission is to be a community space, support passionate people, support artists, and be a collaborative environment without any ego.

At Honeybee, we are passionate about giving back to our community. We donate 10% of our product sales every month to local charities and nonprofit organizations.

Green Circle Salons/ Environmental Initiatives:

  • Most of our salon furnishings are salvaged, vintage, or upcycled.

  • We try to minimize paper, water, and hair color waste as much as possible.

  • Reusable containers for samples

  • Use naturally-derived cleaning products when possible

  • Commitment to making our salon environment as fragrance-free as possible, and exclusively use ammonia-free hair color.

We partner with Green Circle Salons. Our goal is to divert up to 95% of our salon waste from landfills and waterways. www.greencirclesalons.com

When entrepreneur Shane Price learned how much trash hairdressing salons generate daily, he was shocked enough to bring the people together who created Green Circle Salons. As founder and CEO, Price is on a mission to bring the entire industry on board by 2020.

Hair clippings go to make brooms for absorbing oil spills. Other materials go to specialized recyclers, including thousands of pounds of aluminum foil from hair color. Color waste is filtered, and clean water is removed and returned to the water system. The remainder goes to a lined landfill facility or is incinerated to create clean energy. Green Circle takes everything from electronics, to lightbulbs, to mannequin heads, and finds responsible ways to recycle or dispose of as many salon materials as possible.
